Biography

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, and I have received training both during college, through private tutoring and during the three years of my acting degree at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).

Although I love the musical scene within which most of my training has been focused, my heart dwells in the melodies of the folk genre, and my music is highly influenced by Irish, Scottish and English traditional music.

I started playing the guitar in the music classes in secondary school, and I play it sufficiently enough to accompany myself, however I would never claim to be an accomplished guitarist. I am still learning.

In addition, I enjoy percussion, playing wooden spoons and learning to play the bones. I also have a bodhran, but I haven’t had the time to learn my way about it, so for now it remains silent.

Silent is not a descriptive word for my fiddle practices, which I started earlier this year. I have not received any professional training, and I am miles away from being good, but I’m thoroughly enjoying the experience of slowly learning to know this complex and beautiful instrument!

Lastly, I write and compose original songs, massively inspired by the various fandoms of which I am part of. I have recorded some of them (along with some covers) in my improvised and poorly sound isolated living room, and they can be found on my Soundcloud account: https://soundcloud.com/ingrid-windsland

I also have a Facebook page where I post updates and share music inspiration and thoughts: Ingrid Windsland on Facebook

Last, but not least, I now also have a Patreon, should you be interested in supporting my music:
